The Tigers lost the first of a four game series to the White Sox 6-5 last night in Chicago. Victor Martinez had a two-run homer, while Eugenio Suarez and Miguel Cabrera each had solo home runs. The Tigers had the tying run on third base in the ninth, but were not able to extend the game. Starter Rick Porcello was charged with the loss, giving up six runs, five earned, on nine hits while striking out four in five innings. Tonight Justin Verlander heads to the hill for Detroit, while Chicago counters with John Danks.
