There are differences between fun. and Bleachers , says guitarist Jack Antonoff , not only in how the music sounds but how it is created.

In this week's episode of Billboard.com's Pop Shop Podcast, Antonoff told co-hosts Jason Lipshutz and Keith Caulfield that the members of fun. contribute to a collaborative process.  His side Bleachers project, however, is "way lonelier," explaining that it's "just living with the ideas in my head and trying to figure out what's working and what isn't. ... It's like a parallel world."

Antonoff added, "The project wouldn't exist if it was too similar.  If that was something I had to think about, I wouldn't have started the project."

Antonoff envisions a busy future for himself: He wants to make another fun. album "in the next coming months," tour behind Bleachers' debut album, Strange Desire , "for the next two years" as well as write and produce for other artists.  He's already had some success in that area: he co-wrote Sara Bareilles ’ platinum selling hit “Brave," while the song "Sweeter than Fiction," which he co-wrote with Taylor Swift for the movie One Chance, earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

"I want to stay creative and stay interested," Antonoff said.  "The worst thing you can do for the universe is to make art that you're not excited to make, and we all can hear it when people do that."
