It appears that Daft Punk really did accept their awards at the Grammys on Sunday.
A source close to the band tells ABC News Radio that despite rumors that Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter were sitting next to robot-suited ringers at the event, in fact that was the pair in their robot-garb in the audience and accepting their awards. The two men seated next to the robots in a photo circulating on the Internet are actually the duo’s manager Paul Hahn and creative director Cedric Hervet , according to the source. But since the Daft Punk robots never speak, we may never know for sure if we’ve been fooled.
Daft Punk won a total of four Grammys on Sunday, including the top prize of Album of the Year for Random Access Memories.
