DETROIT (WKZO) -- The wife of U.S. Representative John Dingell is expected to announce on Friday that she will run for her husband's soon to be open seat. According to a source close to Debbie Dingell, she will make the announcement later this week.
Speculation regarding a run by Debbie began as soon as news broke Monday that 87-year-old John would retire at the end of his term in December. He is the longest-serving member of Congress in history.
If successful in her bid for Congress, Debbie Dingell would become the third Dingell in a row to represent a portion of southeast Michigan in Congress.
