Radiohead is offering fans a new, interactive app called PolyFauna. Available for free for iOS and Android operating systems, the app allows fans to navigate through an abstract, animated landscape, images of which have been posted to the band's website.
In announcing the app on the site, frontman Thom Yorke calls PolyFauna, "An experimental collaboration between us (Radiohead) & Universal Everything, born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song 'Bloom.' It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious."
If that doesn't sound cryptic enough, Yorke goes on to say: " Your screen is the window into an evolving world. Move around to look around. You can follow the red dot. You can wear headphones." Presumably the later are to be used to listen to the accompanying soundtrack of what Billboard describes as "appropriately eerie music."
