The head of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority is stepping down after billing the state for expensive meals and travel. A spokeswoman for the agency, Katie Bach, confirmed last week that the executive director Scott Woosley will resign. The Michigan Democratic Party dug up Woosley’s expense reports after a Freedom of Information act request back in June. The Party announced that Woosley’s expenses amounted to 120 thousand dollars in travel expenses for himself and over 200 thousand dollars in expenses for him and his staffers since he was appointed in 2012. Woosley denies the money was used for anything out of the ordinary. Woosley said he would ask the state Treasury Department to review his expenses so he could write a personal check for any charges that were inadvertently reimbursed.
