DETROIT (WKZO) -- Thousands of new ignition switches are on the way to GM dealers but a lot of people will reportedly have to wait to get their vehicles repaired.
A total of 2.6-million cars are affected by a recall because of the faulty switches. The first batch to get fixed will be small cars from the 2003-to-2007 model years.
Letters have been sent to all affected vehicle owners letting them know it could take about 90-minutes to fix the problem. In the meantime GM is offering free loaner cars to owners who think their vehicle isn't safe to drive.
