State involvement expected after Detroit Emergency Manager leaves

DETROIT (WKZO) -- Michigan Governor Rick Snyder expects Detroit's bankruptcy case to be all but formally finished by the time Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr's tenure is presumed to end this fall.

Snyder spoke Monday at the "Michigan Chronicle" Pancakes and Politics forum and compared the city's current financial troubles to those in New York City three decades ago. The governor says state involvement will not completely end when the emergency manager leaves office.

Snyder opted not to rate Orr's job performance other than to say that Orr is owed a lot for doing one of the hardest jobs in the country.
