DETROIT (WKZO) -- It has been over a month since Detroit's primary election, but officials are still going over ballots to check their validity.
The Wayne County Board of Canvassers spent Tuesday reviewing the ballots at Cobo Hall after Mayoral candidate Tom Barrow petitioned the board for a recount. The votes have been counted by the City of Detroit's clerk's office the Wayne County Board of Canvassers and the State Board of Canvassers.
During a review, workers found some absentee ballots had candidate Mike Duggan's name typed in and those have been sent to the Wayne County Circuit Court for review. Some absentee ballots were cast using pencils while other absentee ballots had been altered with corrective fluid.
