Congratulations, Lorde .  “Royals” has scored the #1 spot on Billboard ’s Alternative Songs chart for the sixth week in a row, making it the longest-running #1 single by a female solo artist in the chart’s 25-year history.

The last female solo artist to have an extended rule on the tally was Alanis Morissette with “You Oughta Know,” which was #1 for five weeks after it was released on July 22, 1995.

“Royals” has also dominated Billboard ’s Hot Rock Songs chart for the last two weeks, and captured the #3 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 last week. In addition, the single has sold over 991,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Lorde will release her debut album, Pure Heroine , on September 30.
