Paramore recently announced that they’ve created their own festival-at-sea, the PARAHOY! Cruise, which sets sail March 7-11 in 2014. Frontwoman Hayley Williams says she’s looking forward to hitting the high seas and connecting with everyone on the cruise.
“I am not really fully sure what to expect,” she tells The Huffington Post . “But I am just excited to do something different, and to be surrounded by friends, fans and people who want to have a good time.”
The PARAHOY! Cruise will offer fans the chance to see Paramore perform two concerts aboard the Norwegian Pearl as it sails from Miami, FL to Great Stirrup Cay, a small island in the Bahamas owned by Norwegian Cruise Line. Williams adds that while she didn’t expect the band to stage an event of this magnitude so early in their career, she feels that the time was right to host their own cruise.
“To me, it's something that bands usually do when they're much older and been around for a lot longer than us,” Hayley notes. “I'm just really excited to be able to enjoy it early on. Who knows what it will be like, but if it's great, maybe we will be able to do another one you know.”
In addition to sets by Paramore, Tegan and Sara are slated to perform on the ship, with more bands to be announced soon. Visit PARAHOY!’s official website for more information.
