DETROIT (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder is standing by his decision to authorize Detroit to file for bankruptcy.  He testified Monday afternoon in the city's bankruptcy trial that the possibility of retiree pension cuts is something the judicial system should decide.

The "Detroit Free Press" reports it was an historic occasion for the state as Snyder defended his decision to allow the country's largest city bankruptcy filing.  Snyder would not answer a question on whether he had told Detroit emergency manager Kevyn Orr his opinion on whether the state should maintain Detroit retiree pensions.
