LANSING, MI (WTVB) - The State of Michigan will team up with federal officials to investigate the outbreak of fungal meningitis that killed 19 residents of the state.  Michigan reported 264 cases that have been linked to tainted steroids produced at the New England Compounding Center in Massachusetts.

Attorney General Bill Schuette was joined Monday by the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts in announcing the joint effort. They said that through a coordinated effort, investigators will be able to achieve justice for the 751 victims and their families.  The last person in Michigan to pass away from the suspected tainted drugs was a 64-year-old Livingston County woman in July.
