MONROE (WKZO) -- Michigan State Police have taken over the investigation for three missing Morenci boys who disappeared nearly three years ago.
On Monday, the case was handed over to MSP. Morenci police, along with the FBI will continue to assist with the matter. Nine-year-old Andrew, seven-year-old Alexander and five-year-old Tanner Skelton were in the care of their father when they disappeared around Thanksgiving in 2010.
John Skelton says he doesn't know where his sons are and claims they are with members of an underground sanctuary group. He is currently serving ten-to-15 years behind bars in connection with the boys' disappearance.
