DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is facing a 4.5-million dollar bill from the federal government as part of the massive corruption he oversaw in office.  Court documents filed Thursday by indicate that's the amount the government is seeking to recoup for contracts Kilpatrick awarded to contractor friend and convicted co-conspirator Bobby Ferguson.

The Justice Department had argued Kilpatrick and Ferguson lined their pockets with nearly ten-million dollars.  U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds ruled the disgraced former mayor should be on the hook for 4.5-million of that.
