WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- A preliminary investigation is now underway by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association into problems with roughly 400-thousand Ford F-150 pickups.

The trucks from model years 2011 to 2013 are being looked at for acceleration problems.  On its website, the NHTSA says they have 95 reports of incidents where the trucks have lost engine power during hard accelerations such as passing or merging on the highway.

Ford has issued three technical service bulletins for engine misfires on acceleration at highway speeds in damp or humid conditions.
