Slipknot ruled the night on Thursday at the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards . The group scored the Best Live Band honor, while frontman Corey Taylor won the Best Vocalist award for his work with both Slipknot and Stone Sour .
Other big winners include Device -- the side project of Disturbed frontman David Draiman -- who won for Best New Talent, Deftones nabbed the Album of the Year award for Koi No Yokan and Black Veil Brides nabbed the Song of the Year for “In the End.”
This year's honorees also included Metallica , who were presented with the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award; Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi , who was recognized with the Riff Lord Award; and Rob Zombie , who received the Golden God Award.
In addition, the event featured performances by Metallica, Stone Sour, Anthrax , Five Finger Death Punch , Dillinger Escape Plan and Halestorm , among others. The show also featured a variety of tributes to Slayer founding member and guitarist Jeff Hanneman , who died from liver failure on Thursday at age 49, including a "moment of noise" from the crowd led by Slayer guitarist Kerry King and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde .
