Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell , Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell have been tapped to take part in next month’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame festivities.

Cornell will get the honor of welcoming fellow Seattle musicians Heart into the Hall of Fame at the 28th annual induction ceremony, which takes place Thursday, April 18 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. In addition, McCready and Cantrell will join Heart for their performance that evening.  Heart has always been very supportive of the younger musicians in their Seattle hometown, who in turn revere them.

Other rock artists set to make an appearance at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony include presenters Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters , who will induct Rush .

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be filmed by HBO and is scheduled to air May 17.
