LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder is expected to announce at 2PM this afternoon that he will be appointing a new Emergency Manager to Take over the finances in Detroit.
The Detroit news and several other media outlets are reporting that it will be Kevyn Orr, an attorney from Washington D.C. who helped with the Chrysler bankruptcy. Orr is a University of Michigan Graduate and works for Jones Day, a law firm that is already somewhat familiar with the situation in Detroit.
The Detroit City Council is already threatening to go to court to try to block the appointment and Reverend Charles Williams with the National Action Network says protestors will take to the streets.
The Local Emergency Finance Assistance Loan board has a meeting scheduled for 3 p.m. to take official action on the Detroit E.M.
