Vampire Weekend needs to clear off some mantel space: The band is set to get a trophy at this year’s Silver Clef Awards . The group will be honored with the Raymond Weil Best International Award at the event, handed out annually by Nordoff Robbins, a U.K. charity that brings music therapy to ill and disabled people.
"With their unique sound and cult following, Vampire Weekend have made a real name for themselves not just in America but around the world,” said Nordoff Robbins Chairman David Munns in a statement. "They truly are one of the must-see bands on the international circuit and a worthy winner of the Raymond Weil International Award."
As previously reported, Coldplay will also be honored with a trophy at the upcoming event. The group will be on hand to receive the Royal Albert Hall Best British Act Award. Vampire Weekend and Coldplay will receive their awards at ceremonies taking place June 28 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
