The Killers may be taking some time off after they're done promoting their latest release, Battle Born . Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says the group is considering going on hiatus so guitarist Dave Keuning can spend some time with his family.

"Dave’s becoming more of a father and wants more time off,” Vannucci tells the U.K. tabloid the Daily Star . “We all totally respect that, because making and touring an album takes two-and-a-half-years of solid work around the world -- more if it goes really well.”

Vannucci adds that he plans to keep busy if the band does take a break, announcing that he may create a follow-up to his debut solo album, 2011’s Big Talk . “I just want to make music, because it’s a gift and you don’t get to do it for ever -- you get fat and ugly soon enough," he notes. "If we do take a long break, I might make another solo album, or if Queens of the Stone Age ’s drummer ever falls ill, I’ll fight for a spot with those guys.”
