DETROIT (WKZO) -- The FBI called it Operation Cross Country VII. There have been 6 smaller nationwide raids on child trafficking and prostitution operations.
This was the largest so far with 105-children rescued in 76 cities, and 150 people taken into custody nationwide. Detroit has the second largest number of rescued children of all the cities that were involved.
John Ryan with the National Center for Missing and exploited Children says it happens more often than anyone thinks.
In S.E. Michigan, they rescued ten kids and arrested 18 they identified as pimps.
The operation focused on a four county area around Detroit with no arrests in central Michigan.
