PERE MARQUETTE STATE PARK (WKZO) -- Dive teams have found the body of a Ypsilanti teen who drowned in Lake Michigan off Pere Marquette Beach Friday evening.
15-year-old Raybeon Jenkins, her younger sister and two other girls ignored red flag warnings because the weather was creating rip currents and went into the water anyway.
They all got into trouble and only three of them were able to get back to shore, with the help of others. Jenkins went under and disappeared.
Divers, helicopters and boats with side scan radar spent much of the weekend looking for her body.
They finally found her about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. She had been spending the summer with her dad in Muskegon.
