As previously reported, kind-hearted couple Emily Kraus and her boyfriend, Joe Proffit , were on the way to see Dave Matthews Band at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Saturday when they spotted Dave Matthews himself, stranded on the side of the road with a broken bicycle and no mobile phone. In exchange for giving Matthews a lift to his gig, they scored dinners, front-row tickets and even a shout-out from Matthews during the concert.
Appearing on Tuesday's Good Morning America , Proffitt says he was the first one to spot Matthews. “I'm in the passenger seat and I'm just looking out of the window,” he explained. “And I see these three people and a guy on a mountain bike and I look over…and I was like, ‘That was Dave!’”
Kraus recounts that they made regular small talk with the rock star while giving him a lift to his concert. “We asked him like where he had just come from, and how long he was touring for the summer and what his plans were,” she notes. “And we asked him had he ever been to Hersheypark.”
In addition to the perks already mentioned, Kraus adds that to thank them for the ride, Matthews autographed their unused tickets, which Kraus says will “be framed and everything and hung on the wall.”
