After months of speculation, it appears that Arcade Fire has unveiled the release date for the follow-up to their 2010 Grammy Award-winning album, The Suburbs .
In response to a fan’s tweet that Arcade Fire was his favorite band, the group wrote , “Thanks. Our new album will be out October 29th.” The message also featured a composite photo of the band and a metal structure on fire, which may be the artwork for the upcoming release.
Former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy , who's helping to produce the as-yet-untitled release, has said that he feels good about what the band has recorded so far. “The album is going great,” he recently told the U.K. newspaper the Daily Star . “I’m too in the middle of it to know which way it will go in the end. But it’s going to be a fantastic record.”
