DETROIT (WKZO) -- At least once a year the state auctions off items left behind at airport checkpoints. Some of these have been confiscated and some have been accidentally left at the airport.
Reportedly among the most common items are knives. Other items like baseball bats, hammers, snow globes and even a bowling pin have made their way to the auction.
Items confiscated by the TSA at Detroit Metro in the past year include a pocketknife that was wrapped in foil and placed inside a plastic bottle of foot powder, a pocketknife wrapped in cloth and hidden at the bottom of a stick of deodorant and a stun gun disguised as a smartphone.
