Petroleum institute pushes for fracking in Micgigan

UNDATED (WTVB) - There have been concerns about fracking for natural gas in southwest Michigan, but one advocate for the practice says that perhaps many need to know more about it. Rayola Dougher is a senior economic adviser with the American Petroleum Institute.  She says the now famous clip from the documentary film "Gasland" of a man lighting his kitchen tap water on fire was found to be unrelated to fracking, and says the film's follow-up has a scene that's far more erroneous.

Dougher says the U.S. is currently the number one producer of natural gas in the world through advances made only in recent history and that the country has a 100-year supply of natural gas that was unavailable just a few years ago.
