The Lansing Board of Water and Light today is expected to put online its brand new co-generation power plant. The facility in REO town is state of the art, according to BWL GM Peter Lark. The plant is open to the public for tours all day. Event planners advise those hoping to attend today’s events to park free two blocks south of the new facility on Washington Ave. The $182 million natural gas-fired plant will generate some 300,000 pounds of steam for 225 customers in downtown Lansing.
