Tigers pick up where they left off, beat Yankees 9-3.

NEW YORK, NY (WKZO) - Detroit's 12-game streak might have come to an end, but they sure made the Yankees pay Saturday afternoon, creaming them 9-3.

Home runs were hit by Torii Hunter, Austin Jackson and Miguel Cabrera who also got three hits with an injured leg. Starter Anibal Sanchez was also in excellent form, pitching seven innings and allowing just two runs.

Along with the three-run homer, Hunter also got Jackson a run by way of a sacrifice fly in the 1st. Also of note was Don Kelly's two-run single in the 5th.

A sweep of New York is out of the question at this point, but the Tigers might still be able to win the series depending on the outcome of tomorrow's game, at 12:40 PM on 590 AM WKZO.
