The National has announced that they’ll be performing at MoMA PS1 in New York City on May 5, but it won’t be a traditional concert. The guys will be playing their single “ Sorrow ,” from 2010’s High Violet , for six hours straight.

The performance is part of an original work by Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson , titled "A Lot of Sorrow."  According to the event's description , the goal of The National’s repetitive performance is to “produce sculptural presence within sound.”

The National will be performing “Sorrow” inside the PS1′s VW Dome from 12-6 p.m.  Tickets for the event will run you $15 and are available now at MoMA PS1’s website .

In other National news, the band will release their fifth studio album, Trouble Will Find Me , on May 21.
