LANSING (WKZO) -- MIRS News is reporting that House Republicans have found 50-million dollars to fund local road projects next year. However, that wipes out 25-million dollars from the state's film industry incentive program. The other 25-million would come from the Governor's 91-million dollar business attraction fund.
The House has also passed an amendment introduced by Representative Pat Somerville to move 150-million dollars in leftover money at the end of fiscal 2014 to road funding. All of that, however, still falls far short of the 1.2-billion dollars called for by Governor Snyder to be used on the state's transportation infrastructure.
Debate over where the rest of the funding might be derived continues.
