fun., Gotye, Mumford & Sons, Coldplay & More Score "Billboard" Music Awards Nominations

The nominees for the Billboard Music Awards have been announced and quite a few rockers are in the running for some big awards.

fun. scored the most nods of any rock act, racking up 11 nominations in a variety of categories including Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist. Gotye follows closely behind fun. with seven nominations, competing against the band in the categories of Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song and Top Streaming Song with his smash hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

Coldplay and Mumford & Sons both scored a few nominations each as well. Coldplay will compete with fun. and Mumford & Sons for Top Duo/Group and will face off against ex- Pink Floyd singer/bassist Rogers Waters for the honor of Top Touring Artist. Mumford & Sons are also in the running for Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album, for Babel .

The Top Rock Artist nominees are Coldplay, fun., Mumford & Sons, Gotye and Bruce Springsteen . Nominees for the Top Rock Album of the year include Some Nights from fun., The Lumineers ’ self-titled album, Mumford & Sons’ Babel , Of Monsters and Men 's My Head Is an Animal , and Phillip Phillips ' The World from the Side of the Moon

For Top Rock Song, the nominees are fun.’s “Some Nights” and “We Are Young,” Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, and Phillip Phillips’ "Home."

The Billboard Music Awards take place on Sunday, May 19 and will air live from Las Vegas on ABC. You can find a complete list of nominees at Billboard.com .
