LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder's attempts to expand Medicaid and increase road funding have stalled amongst fellow Republicans.

Neither of the governor's proposals have gained traction among GOP legislators who oppose higher taxes and more government entitlements.  The Medicaid and road tax efforts are the biggest issues facing the Legislature as lawmakers return to work following a two-week break.

Currently, a proposed House Republican budget plan does not include Snyder's Medicaid expansion or request for 1.2-billion dollars in new money for highways, bridges and roads.
