Alabama Shakes Perform at Memphis Soul White House Event

It was all about soul at the White House Tuesday night. President Obama saluted Memphis Soul music as part of the In Performance at the White House series.

Among the artists who took the stage to perform soul classics: Alabama Shakes and Ben Harper . Booker T. Jones served as music director and band leader.

PBS will air the event next Tuesday night; check local listings. Here's a rundown of some of the notable performances from the event:
