Depeche Mode and The Strokes both secured positions in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week.
Depeche Mode scored the #6 spot with their first album in four years, Delta Machine , which sold 52,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The successful sales week makes Delta Machine the group’s seventh consecutive album to debut in the top 10 since the release of Violator in 1990.
The Strokes’ Comedown Machine clocked in at #10 with 41,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Comedown Machine ’s one-week sales figure marks the smallest debut for the band since their first album, This Is It , was released in 2001. The Strokes’ previous release, 2011’s Angles , debuted at #4 on the tally, selling 89,000 copies its first week out.
Meanwhile, Imagine Dragons ’ debut album, Night Visions , slipped two spots from #6 to #8 this week, selling 47,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
