The last original Ramone passes away.

by Otto Man

Founding Ramones drummer, Tommy Ramone passed away at the age of 65 late Friday from bile duct cancer. Tommy, whose real name was Erdelyi Tamas, was born in Budapest, Hungary, but grew up in Queens, NY, and was the last surviving original member of the band, having played on The Ramones first three albums before leaving the stage in 1978 and being replacedby Marky Ramone. In addition, Tommy co-produced those albums too, as well as later albums Road to Ruin and Too Tough to Die after he had been replaced by Marky Ramone. He was inducted with the Ramones into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2002. Ramone is survived by longtime partner Claudia Tienan and an older brother. A private funeral service is planned.
