Motorhead was forced to end its performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany over the weekend after only six songs because of frontman Lemmy Kilmister's health. Reports from the show said that he looked pale and did not sound good. He told the crowd: “I was very sick, but I'm getting better now, I thought we'd come along and see if we could completely cripple oursleves playing for you f***ers" The band spent less than half an hour on stage that included including long pauses between tracks and an unusually early guitar solo spot to give Lemmy enough time to gather his strength to perform. After Motorhead left the stage after the extended solo, Wacken organizers took the stage and said the show was over, and added Lemmy had cancelled the rest of his dates in Europe and tried to do the festival, but it was all he could do.

The band afterward released a statement: “The show had to go on because that's how Lemmy rolls. Even though he was not 100% fit, he refused to feel he was letting the 85,000 Wacken fans down. They kicked ass in the 100+degree heat for a shortened, but powerful, set before, Lemmy finally realized he might have bitten off a little more than he could chew. Thus he will embark upon the recuperation recommended. We know that rumors are flying around, but once he fully recharges, Motörhead will be back, don't you worry.” More and more and more

And guitarist Phil Campbell tweeted: "Contrary to some reports, Lem is alive and kicking so take no notice of these rumours from a**hole tweeters." More and more and more
