Metallica makes a MAJOR Milwaukee related "Through the Never" announcement and rocks New York

Metallica had a busy weekend in New York. First the band played at the Apollo theater on Saturday.


More and more and more  and more

And then played "Enter Sandman" at New York Yankees closer, Mariano Rivera's retirement ceremony on Sunday. Rivera used the song as his entrance throughout his career.  After the their performance, the band made their way down to home plate, where they presented Rivera with a custom amplifier.

The band will perform and do an interview this Tuesday the 24th on "The Colbert Report."

Meanwhile Picturehouse films announced today that James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo will make in-theater appearances in celebration of the opening weekend of "Metallica Through The Never" at select IMAX theatres around the country this weekend. Included in that, is Kirk Hammett appearing this Thursday at Milwaukee’s AMC Mayfair at the 10:00 PM showing, and the AMC Woodfield in Chicago at 12:15 AM’s showing. The movie hits IMAX theatres this Thursday and expands to more theatres on October 4th. More and more

Metallica have released another clip from the movie, a performance of  "Master Of Puppets".


The band also released a trio of new “making of” clips from the movie.

Frontman James Hetfield was interviewed on Brazil's "Multi Show" prior to the band's appearance at the Rock In Rio festival this weekend.
