Early Led Zepplin recording sells for big money

by Otto Man

A metal acetate test copy of Led Zeppelin's "Your Time is Gonna Come" recently sold for $3600 on eBay. The auction for the double-sided 45 rpm disc was intense, garnering a total of 40 bids. The item formerly belonged to a disc jockey who worked in the U.K. and South Africa, according to its Austin, Texas-based seller. "Your Time is Gonna Come" is a song that was featured on Zeppelin's self-titled 1969 debut album and is said to have been performed only once on stage by Zeppelin, as part of a medley with "Whole Lotta Love" during a 1971 concert in Tokyo, Japan. The song appeared more recently on a live album that Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recorded with the Black Crowes called Live at the Greek. More and more
