Tacoma, Washingtons Emerald Queen Casino has cancelled Ted Nugent concerts scheduled for August 2 nd and 3 rd , citing what it calls the rock musicians history of racist remarks as well as strong pressure from the public. According to tribal spokesman John Weymer, it marks the first time the casino, operated by the Puyallup Indian Tribe, has canceled a show because of a performers negative persona. And he added The decision to cancel was made at a great deal of expense, because the casino is still paying Nugents contract. The decision follows a similar cancellation by the Coeur dAlene Tribe in Idaho who cancelled Nugents August 4 th show.
